Monte cristo Sandwich

This a savory French toast.  There's different flavors in this sandwich.  It's salty, creamy and has a touch of sweetness.  It's like a croque Madame without the egg batter and or a fried egg.

2 slices white or Texas toast

1 tablespoon butter

2 slices boneless turkey breast or chicken breast

2 slices sliced ham

2 sliced Swiss cheese

1 egg beaten

1/4 cup heavy cream

1. Place the bread on a clean work surface. Spread the tops with butter.

2.  Place the turkey, ham, and cheese slices on one of the pieces of bread. Top with remaining slce of bread, buttered side down.

3. Secure the sandwich with toothpicks placed in opposite corners

4. Beat the egg and milk together.

5. Dip the sandwich in the batter until it is completely coated and the liquid has partially soaked the bread.

6. Melt the butter put the sandwich in the pan and cook it for 5 mintues, flip the other side to make it golden brown.
